In my head I'm still 20, still thinking/hoping I'm as fit as I was when I running competitively, playing club squash and netball, hill climbing and going to the gym at every opportunity...
In reality I've just turned 60, probably a stone plus overweight, weak knees, diminished upper body strength, dodgy back and constant headaches, probably caused by bad sleeping habits.
Although I cycle and walk regularly there came a point where I knew I didn't want to be old and weak and overweight, I wanted to be as fit and healthy as I possibly could be.
I started FitBody as I had lost weight and needed a new challenge.
I needed to tone up and I couldn’t decide what form of exercise was best for me, then FitBody showed up and I just hit the sign me up button.
I’d finally reached my goal weight, then life happened…pregnancy, a breakup, and a lot of stress, and the weight crept back on!
Having now moved back to the UK, I really wanted to find a fresh routine, feel good in myself again, and get some support along the way.
I was looking for somewhere that could help me get stronger, boost my weight loss journey, and help me rebuild confidence both in and out of the gym.
I took the plunge and signed up for the 28day challenge with FitBody in February 25 to kick start my weight loss / fitness journey.
I have tried many different diets before but after losing the initial big weight loss I struggled to keep going, like most of us we want that quick fix but learning that fitness, focus and food = success over time and it's not a race!
Having a full time job, children, grandchildren and lack of motivation, I didn't think I would have time to go to a gym, never mind being able to stick to it. I was stuck in a rut of wanting to improve myself but not knowing how
With family events planned this year, I knew I wanted to look and feel better in myself, so I had to put my big girl pants on and finally start 🩲
I was very reluctant at first and didn't know what to expect, having the option of early morning classes fitted in perfectly with work and family life. I don't think I would make it through the first session, but 5 weeks on and I'm loving it, I never thought I would say that about exercise!
I was sat in hospital in January following my second miscarriage in 6-months feeling like I’d completely lost ‘me’.
Already a busy mum of two young boys (age 4 & 2.5), my husband and I had been trying for a third for over a year.
In that time I think I’d put my life on hold while I was waiting to find out if we were going to be a family of 4 or a family of 5.
I couldn’t keep going on like that.
I’d put on a dress size in that time and my mental health wasn’t in the best place, I also knew that I couldn’t fix it on my own- That’s when I came across FitBody.
I’ve never been to a gym - I find them intimidating and I also have no idea what to do.
But the accountability that the 28 day plan offered was just what I needed to keep me motivated and the idea of a small, structured, female only class sounded perfect- I could at least give it a try, right?
I had been talking about “doing something” for goodness knows how long and always found an excuse why I would “do it next week”!
As I have got older (I’m 63) my weight has gone up and up, although I controlled my eating (or so I thought) nothing altered- I felt sluggish and tired all of the time.
In January we made the move to Shrewsbury and this was the time “to sort myself out” New place, new home, new start!
I signed up to fit body over 3 years ago, having never stepped foot in a gym before, the FitBody Trainers were very reassuring, so I convinced myself even I could manage a couple of months ….. And I’m still here !!
After surviving breast cancer in 2013, 5 years of hormone suppressants, and reconstruction surgery later (they did a great job by the way) I came out the other side with a renewed zest for life, but no energy or fitness to match it -and although I did yoga, it wasn’t enough .....eventually I came across FitBody
As a bigger woman, I was always reluctant to work out, and I definitely didn’t expect to feel motivated or excited about it. But all of that has completely changed.
From the very first session, I knew I had made the right choice.
The 3 sessions a week have become something I look forward to every single week.
It’s not just about physical fitness – it’s been a complete transformation for both my body and mind. Scott and Sam, the trainers, have been incredibly supportive and motivating.
With a 3 year old daughter and a busy job, I haven’t done much exercise at all for the last few years.
I wanted something to improve my general health and fitness and have never done anything like FitBody offers before.
FitBody gives me the guidance I need, whilst providing varied sessions that go by in the blink of an eye.
Consistency is key and changes have to be sustainable, which this definitely is.
I am now 6 weeks in, doing 3 workouts a week and feel like it’s part of my weekly routine.
I have lost 2.5kg with almost 10 centimetres off as well.
More importantly though, I feel more energised, more positive and can feel I am getting stronger.
The classes are enjoyable, non-judgmental and welcoming and I genuinely look forward to going!
I was aware I was no where near as strong as I used to be, but had accepted this following breast cancer, being over 50 and menopausal. My strength diminished further, so much so I was struggling to fasten my bra!
I realised I needed help, just not sure what, until one Friday evening scrolling through my phone with a glass of wine, found FitBody.
I read about local group training for ladies - I thought wow! This could be for me.
I slept on it over night and revisited Saturday morning. I clicked about 5 times to get a call back from Nick before taking the plunge to speak. Nick phoned exactly to time, sounded lovely on the phone. He asked me if I wanted to drop a dress size and increase my strength and fitness! Tick tick and tick!
As I hadn’t exercised for years, had one vest top which was very snug and nothing else, so bought one of everything to get me to my first session. I was apprehensive but on meeting the team, I was soon put me at ease. They were super supportive. The warm up nearly killed me 😂, but I managed to get through my first session in a very uncoordinated manner, but as I walked out, felt lifted and inspired.
I was so pleased I’d taken the plunge! I knew this is for me! It was going to make the difference I am looking for in my life. The dietary advice which followed was superb and so different from years of every fad diets and made perfect sense. Supported by accountability was a game changer!
My 45 minutes is time for me, to try and be my best self! Setting time aside like this just for me wasn’t something I’d really done before.
It has been fantastic and a real tonic, something I was really not expecting to feel.
The trainers are super supportive and provide a varied programme- I never thought I’d ever say exercise in my late 50’s exercise is addictive and fun.
It’s about listening to advice and support with technique, enjoying the challenge and feeling the burn!
Not beating yourself up for what you can’t do, but feeling good about the changes in your range of movement, ability and size.
I’ve heard so many friends say ‘Wow I couldn’t do that last week, but now I can.’ Every week brings a new win for us all!
Understanding more about my diet and what I eat, there are tracking apps to check out the calories in my favourite foods, which in turn supported portion control and identifying where a dish should be an occasional treat, rather than a regular feature! I had no idea how much protein I needed to eat! But feel so much better for the significant increase.
Accountability also supported every part of the journey, checking out things I wasn’t sure of, along the way with the option to carry on as long as I needed to in support of my new found motivation.
FitBody definitely provides the complete package, Fitness, Food, Focus and Mindset.
A leaner, stronger me! Loss of cm's everywhere, the biggest achievement being my waist!
Being able to fasten my bra with ease!
Now enjoying fabulous clothes in the cupboard, which hadn’t fit for sometime!
Meeting some wonderful supportive and very kind ladies, aches that make me smile and feel good, regaining lost strength along with a new flexibility, making better food choices in terms of what I eat & a clearer head- the list is long.
Despite the last year being challenging to say the least, the feeling I get every time I leave my session sets me up for the day and makes me feel as though I can conquer the world 🌎
I’ve just reached my 200th session and looking forward to the next 200!
I wanted to increase my wellness – physically and mentally.
I have always had an office job, but since lockdown I have been working from home- sat at my desk all day - with zero energy, time, or motivation to workout ...I was feeling sluggish.
It is possible to enjoy exercise!!!
I have tried gym memberships before, and gym classes, but they haven’t worked out for me.
I get bored easily, and repetitive routines or plans just don’t inspire me to stick it out.
Gym classes were better, but the fixed session times would be difficult to fit around ‘life’!
Fitbody is the perfect solution for me – 3 x 45 minute sessions per week at days and times to suit you.
The flexibility to book and change days and times yourself on the app, so there really is no excuse that you don’t have time.
But to be honest, you don’t need an excuse because it’s actually enjoyable, (I didn’t think I’d ever say that about exercise!).
Each session is different, and I feel like I achieve so much more in 45 minutes at FitBody than I did in twice the time at a gym.
The Trainers, Sam and Scott, are both brilliant at keeping motivation up, and encouraging you to push yourself to reach your goals.
And the social aspect of working out in groups makes it not only more fun, but spurs you on to work harder and keep going.
I have been at Fitbody now for almost a year, and I have more energy, feel healthier, and I am definitely stronger.
Mentally it just has a way of making me feel better.
I remember the first week of sessions and worrying if I could manage this – I found muscles aching that I never knew I had! But I’m so glad I stuck with it.
FitBody has managed to create a welcoming environment that is quite unique – no judgment, not intimidating, just a great group of friendly people.
After six years of hell, firstly losing my dad to dementia, then my bother to a sudden heart attack and then finally my mum to cancer I wasn’t in the best place.
For many years my priorities have been everyone else first but finally I decided to make time for myself. The physical side is important but the way FitBody has changed my headspace is huge.
The main lesson is that if I put my mind to it and dedicate the time I’m way more capable than I realised. The thought of being in a gym with lots of other people filled me with dread but I love being with all the other ladies and Nash, Scott and Sam are absolutely fab.
Through every session I moan and groan 😅 to get through it but the whole team are motivational and we all have a laugh.
Having only been at FitBody for a short time the primary result so far is feeling so much more confident and an added bonus of my body shape beginning to change. I’m looking forward to getting fitter and losing those excess pounds over the next few months.
I joined FitBody as it was a New Year and I was desperate to lose some weight.
As a Mom with a busy job, I was struggling to find the time, or more likely the motivation, to exercise at home, and I’d lost control of my diet eating what I wanted when I wanted.
I needed something that would hold me to account and encourage me to get fit, and FitBody was the perfect solution for this.
I love going to the sessions now, and it never feels like a chore, it’s 3 times a week and the 45mins go so quickly, I find myself looking forward to going!
The exercises are so varied it never gets boring, the trainers have been really helpful with the nutrition side of things, tweaking my approach when the weight wasn’t coming off as quickly as I’d hoped.
The biggest things I’ve learned at FitBody are that exercise doesn’t have to be a chore, if you want to loose weight you’ve got to get the balance right in terms of how much you consume and lifting weights isn’t just for bodybuilders!!
I’m still only two months into my FitBody journey, but I have lost nearly half a stone so far, and I am far stronger now than when I first started…I thought the heavier kettle bells were for the hardcore but I’m using them more and more now! I can’t wait to continue my journey and hopefully achieve my weight loss goals!
I needed to do something for my health & wellbeing, I have had weight issues for as long as I can remember, always up and down round & round.
I lost my dad suddenly and this has been hard to deal with for me. He was a role model like my mum is, he was such a kind & caring person.
Food is the thing that I go to when I'm happy or sad. I have now got something else to focus on and it appears to be helping me. It was time to do something for *me* & I'm happy to say that I'm not on any medication at the moment and I want it to stay like that, the exercise & program is really helping.
I have lost inches and I'm nearly half a stone lighter since I started.
I have a long way to go... but this is helping my mental health tremendously. I feel better in my self, more healthy and fitter than before & I am now able to get off the floor more easily than before 😅.
That first week was hard. I thought is it just me, but I persevered & the second week was so much easier - I think probably because I knew I could do it! I am seeing the difference in what I couldn’t do to what I can do now in just a month.
I would recommend anyone to give this ago, I am not a gym fan & this is definitely not like that. Everyone is so welcoming and will help if you are stuck, you've also got the FitBody Trainers in your corner to help with what ever you need to solve.
The session times are brilliant, morning and evening’s to suit your life.... My life is a very busy one and I have always struggled with fitting in a gym or walk with work and home life -- now at long last I can!
I started a weight loss journey in 2022, and by December 2024 I had lost 9st 3lbs (58.5kg) but was really struggling to lose that last 11lbs (5kg).
Along with fat loss I had become quite weak and whilst my BMI was down, so was my muscle mass. I had seen FitBody and decided to bite the bullet.
I had nothing to lose.
My aim was to lose that last 5kg and to get stronger.
I had been on a pretty much protein only diet for 2 years.
The first two things I learned was I was not eating the right volume and I needed to start including carbs.
My first session was on 31st December and I weighed in at 66.2kg.
By 27th January I was down to 58.6kg, so finally I had busted my 10 stone weight loss.
I’d also lost 5cm off my waist!
On a whim I joined FitBody just before New Year to address my New Year's resolutions - increase strength, balance and mobility in my body and lose some excess weight. It looked as if FitBody could address all of these issues as I was struggling to do it on my own.
The first session was hard of course, and as I was gurneyed to my car at the end 😆 I wondered how I could possibly carry on. But carry on I did and it gradually became more manageable and certainly more enjoyable.
I am now in week 6 and really enjoying it and Nick is very supportive of you in a session.
The exercises are extremely varied and by the end of a session I can honestly say I feel re-energised and not at all tired. I look forward to the next few weeks to see what I can achieve.
I was the heaviest I've ever been, and I was miserable. I used to come to Fitbody 3 years ago but due to unforeseen circumstances, I was no longer able to attend. This was a huge disappointment because FitBody helped me feel the best that I could. This is why I have returned and won't go to another gym.
The lesson I've learnt is consistency and accountability is the key. I've learnt that by investing in myself, not only do I get into shape but it hugely helps my mental health and wellbeing.
Since starting again 10 months or so ago, I've lost over 4 and a half stone. I still have 2 and a half to go still but I know I'll get there with Nick and the Team. I have also been tracking my food intake, upping my protein , drinking 2 litres of water a day and so on.
I'm happy that I have invested in myself and my mental wellbeing. Nick is brilliant and I can't thank him enough for supporting me in my journey. He also messages me if I skip a session or two. but that's really good for me.
It's all very well being on a weightless journey however, at my age ( 48) I need to keep muscle and tone. FitBody is fun, the ladies are amazing and you always feel so much better about yourself coming away than when you first went in.
I highly recommend FitBody to everyone and a few friends of mine have also joined now. It's not like a normal gym where you just go and do what you want or not, this is a Personal Training experience with circuits made out for you that change weekly. So, it's never boring and keeps you on your toes.
If you are wanting to invest in yourself, want to lose weight, have accountability, and change your mindset, then FitBody is for you.
I had spent a few years trying to get fit by doing workouts at home or using the local Council gym. However, I have terrible motivation and when I was doing workouts at home, I would skip bits I couldn't do or was too tired to do.
With the Council gyms, if I didn't have a plan or routine, I'd just work my way around the different machines making up my reps and weights - basically winging it and hardly going. I ended up putting more and more weight on because I didn't know what I was doing and wasn't focusing on nutrition.
I also get bored really easily and if workouts are kept the same for a 4-6 week period before being changed, it's game over for me. I need my brain to be stimulated as much as my body! It was also frustrating if a session was only on once a week and you missed it, then you'd have to wait a whole seven days before doing some exercise again.
So when I joined FitBody and they showed me their timetable I was over the moon! It's so flexible and ensures you don't have any reason to miss a workout. With so many time slots and days to choose from, if you can't do one day, you can try the next and have not missed out.
I also LOVE LOVE LOVE that each week consists of not one, but two circuits per workout! Amazing! You never know what you're going to be doing and it keeps it interesting and fresh which is so vital for me.
To keep myself accountable by using the App. Having the app to remind me to stick to my nutrition, drink my water and provide my weekly measurements has been brilliant for me. I'm only 5 weeks in, but I'm so much more consistent with my workouts and I'm keeping track of my food intake. I've not been perfect, but keeping a note of what I'm eating and making sure I have more good days than bad is proving really helpful.
Plus, when I did my progress photos after just four weeks I already saw differences in my body shape! So that spurred me on even more. I'm also grateful to Sam and Scott the FitBody Trainers- they're so welcoming and encouraging and we always have a good laugh during the sessions.
I'm 5 weeks in now and have already lost half a stone which I'm thrilled about. I've lost centimetres off my waist, hips, thighs etc and my body fat % is gradually coming down too.
I've noticed a difference in some of my clothes already and during the sessions my stamina is gradually improving. For example I managed 4 rounds of Mountain Climbers without stopping the other day and could hardly complete one round in my first couple of weeks!
I'm absolutely loving being at FitBody and can't wait to see what new results I achieve!
It wasn't just about losing weight for me, in 2023 I had two major operations, having both my hips replaced. I'd also been on waiting list for 2 years before the first op, so my weight and general health & fitness had deteriorated due to not being able to exercise and being full of painkillers every day.
I was in so much pain I could hardly walk some days. So, once I was fully recovered this year (2024) I wanted to get back to who I was, feel fitter, yes lose weight but also just feel better in myself.
Even though I've not been that many weeks at FitBody, I feel completely different already, I've only lost a few pounds in weight, but I have so much more energy, I feel stronger, clothes fit better and I really feel more alive and like my old self again.
I really enjoy the sessions and the time goes so quickly, I feel proud of myself for sticking to the regime, surprising myself getting up and to session for 7am! and it seems to suit me and my lifestyle, so thank you so much! I'm looking forward to continuing my journey with FitBody.
I know it's probably a cliche, but biggest lesson, believe in yourself, stick with it and keep going, you can do it! I couldn't even do a sit up when I first joined and I remember Scott saying one time, just keep going, keep doing them, it will get easier! Well a bit!
Love it! Thank you
Since I became full time remote in my work, I realised there would be some days where I didn't leave the house, get exercise or even see other people and I wanted to make changes both for my physical and mental health.
I learned (and continue to learn) that you don't have to slog it out for hours in the gym or doing hours of boring running on a treadmill to see changes. 45 minutes three times a week is manageable for me and I can slot in either before or after work.
I love that the trainers really encourage you to get stronger, fitter and healthier, and keep you on track/provide guidance with your goals without shaming or 'telling you off'.
The other gym goers in the class are friendly, all shapes and sizes and the classes are fun and varied.
I've just started on my second month with FitBody and I feel stronger, healthier and my mental health has improved.
Yes, the scales have come down too (even after a month) but it wasn't as much of a goal for me, it was more that I wanted to feel better and more confident in what I wear and that is definitely happening! I'm looking forward to more sessions!
I have always been on the slim side until I hit menopause, then my body shape went south so to speak and so did my self image.
I have learnt that my problem was that i needed to solve my mind set, that it doesn’t matter what you see yourself as, you just need to find the part of you that accepts you for who you are. In the early days, it was a lesson in that I had to be committed, nobody can do this for me.
I found that with Nicks unwavering guidance, support that I found a new me. During the early days I was going through an emotional journey regarding my work as a nurse versus covid, I can honestly say that I am forever grateful for Fitbody, Nick, the team and my fellow gym members for keeping me afloat.
I achieved my goal in weight loss, altered shape and increased stamina, the added bonus for me is that I found this helped me perform as in my work. I am a Surgical First Assistant, which means I work in the operating theatre, assisting the surgeon.
My role requires me to lift heavy limbs, support, during major orthopaedic surgery. I was not ever going to be told I could not carry out my role because of age and being female, so I had to increase my fitness level.
I have ups and downs with my weight, often due to emotional personal issues,I have been a member for approximately 2/3 years and each time I fall apart I know that I can reach out and find myself.
The fellow gym members are friends, there is never anybody standing there looking like they’ve just walked out of a beauty contest. We are a group of ladies who all wish to maintain a level of fitness that gives us the boost, energy to face each day. We laugh, encourage one another, push us to do far more than we think we can.
I have found that however tired or lethargic I feel, the minute I walk away from the 45 minute session (and yes that’s all), I am buzzing as I know I have battled and shown myself what I am capable of alongside wonderful group of ladies.
I have reached a mile stone of 250 plus sessions, as they say time flies when you’re having fun!!!!.
My only advice for anyone sitting on the sideline is this, sometimes we have to take a leap of faith and just do it, no more excuses just jump in, what have you got to lose!
Going to my first session was really daunting as you have this preconceived idea of what gyms are like, full of thin fit people who are going to look down o you and judge you. How wrong I was!! The last thing I expected was to find a group of women of all ages and sizes who were all there for their own reasons and were so encouraging and supportive - so I'd say that the BIGGEST lesson is that the support around you is not to be underestimated
I'm now in week 5 and can already feel the difference in myself and I'm doing exercise now that I couldn't manage in week 1.
I never thought I'd enjoy leaving home at 5.35am for a 6am session but can honestly say I look forward to it.
For anyone thinking of taking the first step I'd say go for it, they'll find nothing but support and encouragement from everyone and not a judgemental person in sight
Fortunately for me, Fitbody showed me the way, it seemed to be just what I was looking for.
Their comprehensive program looked at what I was eating, looked at my body measurements and suggested a daily calorie allowance.
Obviously then guided me through the targeted exercises with a qualified personal trainer in a group of like minded ladies. I also got access to lots of resources. This is their 28 day challenge!
I have reached the end of my 28 days and have already seen reductions in my measurements, including a further weight loss. For the first time in a few years I have weighed in at 8 stone 13!
Although I have started my journey and lost weight I still feel I have a lot more to do to reach my ultimate goal of being physically fitter, healthier and stronger. That is why I continued on with Fitbody after my 28 day challenge!
That I CAN.
I can get up early and make myself a priority and go to class.
I can push through muscle aches and go back in the next day.
I can be dedicated and committed when I am being held accountable and I am part of a bigger community which is what FitBody feels like to me.
I didn’t fail to go to a single class even when we were under snow and ice I still shovelled my car out to go!
And a few months back I would have said the standard “I don’t have time” and wouldn’t imagine I would be able to stick with it. I went from no training in three years to training 3 times a week! That is an achievement to me! Plus now instead of feeling guilty for taking time for myself I am actually proud of being a good role model to my son to always find ways to be healthy and make good choices for himself too ☺️.
The workouts and nutrition tips have helped me pick up some healthier habits that I’m planning to keep up with.
So far, I’ve lost a decent amount of weight, gained some muscle, and feel more energised and confident.
If you’re looking for a fitness program that keeps you accountable, offers expert guidance, and has a great sense of community, FitBody might be just what you need. 💪🏋️♂️
I had been putting on weight slowly over a few years, but recently started to feel very stiff and old in a morning when I got up. I had other health problems developing as well. I realised that I had to do something about it.
I have learned a lot about nutrition. This has enabled me to check my calories and make better choices. The other great thing about FitBody is the other women who go there, everyone has been very helpful and encouraging 🙌
I have started to loose weight and slim down a little but the best thing is I’m feeling fitter and stronger, which was my number one goal. I know it will be a long process to get where I want to be, but I finally found a way to get there, and a program that I can stick to.
Nick and Tommy are great and have helped me to feel confident about training - long may it continue!
Hey my name is Shaine! I joined FitBody recently & have just completed my 20th session. I joined to get myself more in shape & increase my fitness levels.
FitBody has definitely succeeded in doing this, I find I have more endurance now and can also lift heavier weights than when I originally joined.
The biggest lesson I’ve learnt whilst being at FitBody is that it isn’t a race or a competition.
The only person you focus on is yourself even though there are other people in sessions with you. It is very easy to compare yourself to others in a classic gym set up but at FitBody everyone supports each other & encourages you to be the best you can be.
Since starting I have not only become fitter but I’ve also lost 20cm around my stomach and various cm in other places on my body. It is super important to not only weigh yourself but measure too. Sometimes the scales don’t show you what you want to see but the measurements definitely will!
I can not recommend FitBody more, every session is different and made fun by the trainers plus you’re getting fit all at the same time.
After quitting smoking, I developed asthma and put 3 stones on.
I hated what I saw in the mirror, I wanted to feel good about myself and lose the weight but most importantly, for my health I needed the motivation to move off the sofa, stop the binge eating and do some exercise.
I'd become stuck in a rut and needed a lifestyle change.
The biggest lesson I've learned is that no matter how old or unfit you are, you can do this- It's tough, don't get me wrong.
The first week I ached badly and struggled with my asthma. I had to stop and catch my breath a few times and even quit a session half way through. I felt a failure, but the trainers really help and are very encourage me do what I can.
If an exercise is too much, there will be a second option to do to make it a little easier. The main thing is, is that I'm there and for that I deserve a pat on the back!
After 4 weeks, I've lost 2.9kgs and 5.5 cm's off my waist -Although it's early days and I still have a long way to go, I feel much better in myself.
I'm getting out of the house and really starting to enjoy it, which I never thought I would ever say.
I'm also sleeping better and found I have more energy, which is an accomplishment in itself
I wanted to get moving, tone up and find something which would make me feel good, and that I’d commit to.
Yes I wanted to lose some weight but that wasn’t ever going to be my main focus, I had spinal surgery in 2019 and I desperately wanted to return to some form of fitness training that was going to be of benefit.
As with many of us, finding something to stick with has always been a bit of challenge - I have NEVER got bored of FitBody since I joined over 12 months ago, the exercises are varied and the time goes so quickly! Both Nick and Tommy are really encouraging and if ever an exercise doesn’t suit me and the limitations my back sometimes puts on me, there is always another option!
Everyone is so nice and encouraging, a great group of ladies! And that 45 minutes three times a week can make a real difference!
I feel so much fitter, I’m stronger, I have lost inches, my clothes feel better and I’m wearing things I’ve not felt comfortable in for years!
FitBody is part of my weekly routine, it’s a way of life and that’s exactly what I was aiming to achieve.
I’d noticed I’ve been gradually putting weight on for several years. On checking my BMI I was classed as overweight. I want to get back within the ‘healthy weight’ range. I’d stopped exercising as life had just got busy having a young family and I wanted something I could attend regularly and flexibly to get my love of exercise back and feel fitter and healthier.
it’s easier than you think it’s going to be to get back into exercise. I’d put off going back to doing regular exercise and holding myself accountable to attending something like this regularly. I’d seen the adverts on Facebook for FitBody for several months before I plucked up the courage to make contact. The first week I ached like mad, and was blooming exhausted, but after that it got easier. The trainers were welcoming & approachable. I quickly noticed that the more I was exercising, other healthier behaviours followed.
I wanted to eat better, I was being more productive and had more energy to do other things.
I wish I’d signed up earlier!
I think first and foremost, I’ve just felt better and happier in myself.
It’s given me the kick start I needed and has motivated me to return to playing other sport.
After 4 weeks I’d lost 2kg and 3.5cm from my waist. I’ve definitely not been perfect on the food front but I am trying to make healthier choices that are sustainable for me. I feel well on my way to reaching my weight loss goal and confident I will achieve it and keep it off with the support of the FitBody team.
I personally found the FitBody environment great for me. No ego’s, no mirrors, no gym bravado, just a group of women supporting each other to be fit and healthy.
The biggest lesson I've learned is that hard work truly pays off. I've developed better eating habits by watching my calories and planning my meals ahead of time. The key has been finding a balance that allows me to enjoy life without sacrificing my health.
My target was to lose 21lb to fit into my wedding dress, and in just 5 weeks, I've lost an impressive 17lb! 🎊 I'm so close to my goal thanks to Sam and Scott! Moreover, I love the supportive community and don't plan on leaving FitBody even after reaching my goal. It's an amazing place full of friendly and funny ladies where I feel motivated to keep going!
Thanks, FitBody, for helping me become a healthier, happier me!
I have learnt that it doesn’t matter what shape or size you are , if you put your mind to it you can train your body to do anything.
After my first 4 weeks I have noticed my body toning up aswell as feeling healthier mentally and physically. After class I always come away with a buzz !
I already feel stronger, fitter and more athletic and as I do the 45 second bursts of exercises, I can feel muscles coming into use that I never knew I had!
I feel it just has to be doing me good, it certainly hasn’t caused any harm.
The trainers, Nick and Tommy are always on hand to make sure that there are no injuries during the exercises.
What I’ve learned is the importance of regular targeted exercise.
But, as someone who’d always given up after the first month’s membership of a gym, I think the reason FitBody works is because it’s 45 minutes, 3 times per week of intense targeted exercise covering upper/lower body and HITT - I like that you turn up, do the class, job done!
Best of all the booking system is flexible and convenient and there are plenty of classes each week at convenient times.
I’m hoping that my exercise can become a routine habit - I’ve yet to get to that point but that’s my aim.
I think the biggest lesson for me so far is how much more motivation you have and how much fun it can be, when you’re all training alongside each other. There’s a great atmosphere amongst everyone and it really makes you want to keep going.
I’m just finishing my 5th week so I’m still at the beginning of my journey but already I’ve seen some results- I’ve lost around 6.5lbs and a few inches here and there too! Can’t wait to see what the next month or two brings.
The biggest lesson I learned was that it's not about the time or necessarily how hard you exercise but how you use the time you have most effectively.
In the first 2 weeks I had lost 7.5lbs and 14.5 cms over my body, I was so pleased with my results after the first week I wanted to extend it a few more months, I feel so fit and healthy, I can't wait to see what the next few months bring
The one thing that I’ve noticed about myself is I don’t say I can’t anymore in relation to some of the exercises I say I’ll try but also as the weeks have progressed I notice that I now can, it’s a brilliant feeling. It’s a lovely atmosphere and everyone is so supportive.
I feel healthier, clothes fit better and actually dare I say it...look forward to a class!
The biggest lesson I have learnt is >> I can do it <<, I can get up and out into the gym at 5:30am. I can lift heavier weights than I thought. I can have a laugh and meet new people as I keep fit.
Since being at fit body all the sessions have been different every time which I love as this keeps the work out exciting and different, which I've realised is something I enjoy. The trainers Sam and Scott are amazing they are so lovely and helpful as well as making the classes fun
That you can have fun whilst exercising. Yes I said FUN lol. I love the design of the sessions. They are all very different, no chance to get bored. Sam and Scott are lovely too, which makes a difference. Don't get me wrong they're challenging, but so worth the challenge
I’ve learnt so much in a short space of time. Firstly what exercises I can push myself with a little harder and which I need to take more time with. But the biggest lesson I’ve learnt is what I’m eating! Before I just ate what I wanted, when I wanted, but now I think about what I’m eating, what time of day I’m eating things. I’ve always been a woman who loves a slice of cake but fitbody has given me the skills to eat balanced meals and portion size!
Going to FitBody three times a week for forty five minutes a go, fits in and around my work shifts- there are enough class times to choose from.
The classes are not like some shouty, macho fitness gym classes, everyone goes to have fun and do as much as you physically can.
I've learned you can do all the
exercises, even when they seem impossible to your eyes , believe me YOU will do it, and this is because the Fitbody team will adjust it to your needs and everyone else looks after each other.
Biggest lesson I have learnt so far - feel the fear and do it anyway! You are not the first to reach out and you won’t be the last. And you are never too old to change your mind set or your body. Since joining up I have rediscovered the fun you can have by exercising, the structure and support and in the first month the accountability- did I struggle the first week - YES my legs felt like jelly and I ache in places I didn’t know existed.
Looking back I can see how far I have come in such a short space of time.
The biggest lesson I've learnt so far is that even when pushing myself, exercising can be fun & doesn't need to be excruciating when delivered in the right way!
When I started FitBody I found that everyone was at different levels of fitness, this put me at ease as I couldn't lift as easily as the rest of the women, "just go at your own pace" I was told how good was that, and here I am still lifting building up strength now and 3st lighter
Will I leave FitBody...No!!!!! Will I go again tomorrow....Yes!!! Will I be stiff in the morning...Yes but not for long, and as an old bird of 72yrs young I'm not going anywhere soon, I love the gym and always leave smiling. That's what FitBody is all about, finding fitness and being healthy, time in training is not a problem, don't rush and you'll get there. I did.. I'd like to say a big Thank You to Nick, Scott, Natalie and Instructors past for helping me, Nick for signing me up in the first instance and not forgetting Nash.
FitBody taught me to be accountable for the food I ate and the workouts I planned.
It taught me what to eat using the science behind weight loss and the number of calories to eat to maintain a calorie deficit. It taught me to plan my meals ahead. It taught me to drink plenty through the day and to get a good nights sleep. It also taught me to take body measurements and progress photos rather than relying on the scales solely for weight loss (I still find this one difficult!)
It also taught me that it’s far better to do my workouts first thing in a morning and just get them done, no excuses!
What I quickly learned is how I could utilise two hours of my day before work that I hadn’t previously. No more talking myself out of a training session because of a bad day at work or because I would be late sitting in traffic for an evening session.
I also learned that simple meal planning and preparation is key to reaching my target.
With guidance, encouragement, weekly accountability and support from Nick and Tommy I’m already well on track to achieving what was before, a remote possibility.
I can see and feel the difference in myself already, I like the reflection looking back at me now, my hair and skin is better because of healthy eating, I’m getting stronger and more toned due to the training.
I feel pretty smug when I’ve completed a session, because I know it’s out of the way before most have got out of bed.
It’s so much fun, there is a great community spirit with the ladies I train with who are really friendly and we spur each other on.
Joining Fitbody was the best decision and has helped kick off a fantastic year!
It’s easy to commit when you are enjoying what you are doing.
I had a gym membership for years and I never went, but I didn’t cancel it because I told myself I would! There was no accountability, nobody cared whether I attended or not, it was solitary. Nobody checked in on me, I just had my own conscience to deal with and beat myself up constantly for not attending.
I never thought I was a fan of group exercise as I always felt self-conscious and that all the other participants were fitter than me. At Fitbody I don’t feel that at all! We are all at different levels of fitness and ability, but can all do the same training by using different weights, more resistance or tweaking a move to make it harder……. and most importantly it’s great FUN!!!
It’s very early days for me having only joined Fitbody 6 weeks ago, but I already feel fitter, and have more energy. Weight loss for me is slow (blaming menopause!) but another plus is that my posture feels better and the back ache I always woke up to has gone. My partner says I’m just more positive, my ‘get up and go’ is back and I am glowing…how lovely!
Natalie and Scott are really interactive and make sure you are looked after checking you are doing the exercises correctly both with added fun humour, so I'd say that the BIGGEST thing is technique
After 3 weeks I already feel I'm on the right track health wise with exercise and nutritional advice. I'd thoroughly recommend trying this to anyone & I'm looking forward to seeing a happier healthy me!
Joining FitBody has motivated and given me confidence that I can work out at my own level. The coaches have been great adjusted and adapted the exercises to meet my individual ability whilst still being challenging. No two sessions are the same which helps the mind body and co-ordination on its toes!!
For me so far it’s given me back my mojo! Future goals - weight loss, energy, strength 💪
The biggest thing I've learned to date is to be accountable for what I eat, I've got to take ownership of that job.
The results so far I have lost weight and I'm confident that I will continue to do so, I am also feeling generally fitter and more toned.
Self confidence - I’d never of attended a gym or even gone to a session on my own in the past. I’m glad I pushed my boundaries and on walking through that door the first time to be greeted with friendly faces and helpful trainers I realised I had nothing to worry about. I was initially only planning to do the 28 day programme, but have enjoyed the ever changing sessions and the trainers helping you (more often than not in my case - my coordination leaves a lot to be desired) and have now signed up for membership.
Still can’t believe I walked through that door on my own at the beginning of December - But I am so glad I did.
Everyone is on their own journey. STOP focusing purely on what the scales say (which I have spent years obsessing over) measurements are equally as important and rewarding. And protein is key
Although I still have a long way to go my fitness has improved already. I have also lost pounds and inches which is incredible
Not to feel self conscious or anxious about attending a fitness class on your own and to just go with it and push myself out of my comfort zone. I used to run to keep fit and maintain my weight, but I would get bored and find it hard to motivate myself; the group classes are really enjoyable and being with others helps to keep pushing myself. Each class has new exercises and routines which keep it fresh and enjoyable.
Within the first 2 weeks I lost 6cm from my waist and 3kg. I feel like I have more energy, my mood is lifted and I am more positive in my outlook. I have definitely become more flexible and my strength is increasing
The biggest lesson is PATIENCE. You can’t see results overnight but with the help and guidance of the trainers you can begin to see that it works.
I can now lift heavy objects without having to struggle (stacks of chairs!)
5 months in and my measurements have reduced even though I thought they hadn’t! I didn’t measure for a month or two to see.
I am now able to do sit ups which were a challenge, my next goal is planks!
Where am I now?
I have completed over 100 sessions aiming for 200.
I have never felt so confident in my body shape and have completely lost the mind set of “the fat girl in the mirror".
I enjoy food following the fabulous guidelines that Fitbody have instilled in me without feeling guilty about eating which is a massive breakthrough.
Every class is different and the attention from the coaches to get the technique right not only gets
the results but makes it safe and achievable.
The ladies I meet help make me feel motivated. Whether I have a day when I just want to get it done and not really talk to anyone or a day where the chatter and the giggles make it all the more fun, I always look forward to the next class.
I keep a regular routine in my classes but the flexibility of booking different times/days makes it easy to plan into the week.
After 4 weeks I felt amazing, loads more energy, sleeping well and already losing weight but my
biggest delight was I could actually see a change in my strength and body shape.
I have now made Fitbody part of my life, the change in my mindset, body shape and confidence are invaluable.
I thank everyone involved and look forward to making more friendships and continuing to achieve
these amazing results.
I've learned that strength training is important for weight loss.
I'm getting stronger, my arms are leaner and I'm getting my butt back. The wobble is slowly being replaced by firm muscle..
I learnt that you need to take the classes are your own pace as going too hard too fast will leave you sore and unable to enjoy the sessions. The nutrition advice from the trainers in person or on the members Facebook page is interesting and makes you look at your “journey” in a different way. The need to look after your body to enable you to have a healthy life ahead is important, it’s important to avoid the possibility of developing heart disease, diabetes etc which may shorten the “journey”
I have only being attending about 6 weeks but already I feel stronger. I had very little upper body strength so being able to lift heavier items now proves I have built up the strength.
I have changed my mindset towards foods, I try to avoid sugars and increase protein which hopefully long term will be beneficial.
I joined FitBody to get fit and lose weight… it shouldn’t have been a surprise but light bulb moment…!! It absolutely works!
Faddy diets might work short term however planning meals and as long as you are in calorie deficit the weight will come off, I now have a very varied healthy diet making sensible food choices .. nothing is forbidden and I don’t feel deprived!
I want to now maintain my weight and stay fit as I get older, I have more energy nowadays too which I put down to regular exercise.
...I wish I’d found FitBody years ago!
Remembering how much I love being in this type of fitness environment and looking after myself with some excellent recipes in the menu books.
I've never considered women only gym, being in mixed gym never bothered me. BUT.. it is suiting me so much better. Lovely, lovely people laughing while working hard.
So far lost about 4cm from around waist and a couple from thigh. Aside from measurements and weight I feel so much better for doing regular, well organized and effective classes.
At FitBody i have learned to commit to 3 sessions a week and that i deserve that time for me out of my busy hectic life!
Already in my first month i have dropped over half a stone & got back into my size 10 jeans that have evaded me for 6 months!! So i know by my holiday in August i will be feeling confident and fab again!
No matter how tired, busy, or aching I am finding 45 minutes 3 x weekly is possible and the energy levels rise quickly and feel good factors stays with me for the day .
I haven't started looking at my diet yet (this was a big enough step) however my body shape has changed after just 6 weeks . The scales haven't moved but the measuring tape has --That's a great motivator!
I’ve lost centimetres off my bust, arms, thighs and waist- best being my waist!
I haven’t lost much weight at all but i have Crohn’s Disease which makes eating fruit and vegetables difficult, along with any fibre. I’m not worried at all though, I feel stronger, fitter and a little more confident. My running has improved too- I have more endurance and the speed is picking up too.
I wanted to gain strength through minimal weight loss and toning to continue a heavy physical job that I love for as long as I can. I’ve struggled for a while with shoulder pain and back pain mainly through bad posture but arthritic changes too. I didn’t want to diet as I eat in my opinion healthily anyway but needed to learn how to find the balance.
That it is about me and not the opinions or results of others. I learned that I was part of a group with each person having different realistic! Goals . No need to keep up with a pack just to work at my pace.
Over 7 weeks I’ve lost 4cm on my waist without giving up anything. I’m more toned and stronger all over. More importantly I feel mentally more alert and confident. I don’t mind admitting I’ve struggled with anxiety periodically all my life but to walk into this gym is easy.
I’ve made friends and genuinely had the best fun.
This is the longest I’ve stuck with a training programme and don’t intend stopping anytime soon.
It was not the one I thought it’d be.
I thought I’d learn how to get fitter.
This was obvious actually: More exercise; fewer calories. Deep down of course I knew this. What I actually learnt was unexpected:
I exceeded my weight loss goal (and not just weight loss but reduction of size of thighs, waist etc) and gained the respect of my family, my friends and more importantly myself for picking a goal and exceeding it.
I exceeded my goal in less than three months, and because it taught me rather than just starving myself to exercise more wisely and eat more sensibly, I will be able to stick with it in the long run.
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
Although in the past I'd enjoyed exercise, after about 9-12 months without doing very much at all, I just couldn't kick start myself to starting up again. I knew once I started again, I'd enjoy it, just couldn't find that drive. A friend had mentioned (Sarah Neate) that it's the only programme she'd managed to stick to and valued it immensely. I was looking for structure but it needed to fit with an already busy schedule (single mum of 3 children and I work full time).
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
You need to PLAN, PLAN, PLAN! I've still got a way to go with this myself, but plan to exercise, plan to eat, plan to meditate has been the biggest lesson I've learnt.
What results did you achieve?
I was already losing weight when I joined at the end of September (I'd lost around 1 1/2 stone) since the end of April, but everyone knows it's that last half stone which is the hardest to lose - with FitBody I'm now the lightest I've been in 10 years! I definitely have more energy, have a completely different relationship with alcohol (I write this a week before xmas :) ) and I'm beginning to feel stronger. Oh! I need to buy some more clothes too!
Start weight 64kg
Weight now 60.2kg
Goal 62kg
Waste start measurement should read 32inches
Now 30.5inches
Hips start 37.5 inches
now 36 inches
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
I joined FitBody the year I was going to be fifty as I wanted to be Fit at Fifty! I had tried gyms and they really wasn’t for me so I thought I would give FitBody a go and two years later I’m still here...
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
The biggest lesson I’ve learnt is that it’s not just fitness on its own it’s a package which at FitBody is Fitness Food and Focus and if you do all 3 you get the results
What results did you achieve?
My shape has definitely changed and have dropped over a complete dress size which is what I was aiming for and to feel good in it with less lumps and bumps lol
I’ve also achieved feeling fitter than I was, which I’m really pleased about.
The programmes Nick, Scott and Paul put together are really good and they are always putting in new exercises which keeps you on your toes
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
I was lacking motivation to keep fit
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
exercising regularly has changed my life; my body and sense of well being, good nutrition is also essential and FitBody facilitates all of that...Focussed, varied exercise sessions with an accessible and interesting nutrition programme where no food is off limits. Nick is always there to support, responding to messages really quickly. Fitbody gives me the tools and motivation to keep fit, manage my weight and keep a positive active sense of well-being. I genuinely look forward to working out !! I feel great!
What results did you achieve?
I just feel great!
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
I wanted to feel confident about myself for the first time in my adult life having always been obese/morbidly obese. Even though I've lost almost 7 stone (9 stone since my heaviest) I'm still not happy with myself and know that if I wanted to get down to my ideal weight I needed to be active as well as watching what I eat. Having lost so much weight toning's also one of my main goals! I had FitBody recommended to me a while ago but I didn’t feel ready then but when I saw FitBody pop up on my Facebook feed in August I knew it was now or never.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
I have muscles I didn’t know I had and they ache! But seriously, I never dreamt that I would be able to do what I have done in my first 4 weeks of sessions. Yes, I can’t do everything as my body is still getting used to moving in certain ways and I can’t do as many reps as others but I am enjoying the challenge and know that I will get there.
I’ve also realised that my mental health had taken a bit of a battering over the last 12 months and needed a bit of a work out too. My husband said that I'm happier within myself and less pressured, and he’s right, in such a short space of time I feel so much better. It's OK to be selfish sometimes, take time out for yourself and forget about everything else going on for a while.
Also, I can have some chocolate and not feel guilty.
What results did you achieve?
My mental health has greatly improved. I’m sleeping better at night, not struggling to get out of bed in the morning and have more energy during the day. When I look in the mirror I can see a difference, it’s still early days but I can see and feel that I have toned up. I still have a long way to go but I’m looking forward to it. Never thought that I would say that I enjoy exercise - Thank you
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
When I joined fitbody I wanted to lose weight, tone up and feel fitter and healthier. Since having my little boy I have had no motivation to get back into fitness and I felt like I was becoming lazy and I needed something to guide me in the right direction. Fitbody was just what I was looking for!
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
I have learnt that to get results it's really important to focus and plan your food each week. By doing this it means that I don't get a last minute takeaway which was my biggest down fall before joining fitbody. I have also learnt that exercise can be really fun and I look forward to the classes so much.
What results did you achieve?
I've been at Fitbody for 4 weeks and in that short space of time I have lost half a stone, I've toned up all over and I am so much fitter now, have lots of energy and feel much healthier. I can't wait to see the results in a few months time!! Joining fitbody was the best decision I made!! 😁
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
I wanted to lose weight following the birth of my baby girl. I was struggling with motivation and discipline. I was looking for something that wouldn't allow me to give in and provided guidance to get results.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
If you maintain focus and plan ahead and stick to your plan it works. It's having the determination and self discipline to succeed
What results did you achieve?
I've so far lost a stone but I've not reached my goal yet. I've learnt a new way to exercise to get results. I'm feeling better about myself and will push on to get to where I want to be.
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
I was trying to find some kind of exercise/diet that I could stick to. I had lost and gained weight several times in the past but not found anything that had lasting results
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
This is easy - that I can actually like exercise! Every other type of exercise I have ever done hasn’t lasted as I have not enjoyed it. I would drag myself through workouts etc. However, FitBody sessions are varied, tough (but you can take them at your own pace/level) and even fun! It helps that, as the weeks have progressed, I have been able to achieve more (in terms of fitness levels and the changes in my body) and see the efforts have been worth it.
What results did you achieve?
I am getting fitter everyday. I have more energy. I have a great way to work off the stresses of the day. I have lost weight (& kept it off!) as well as 25 cm from around my waist. I have also made some really lovely friends. The most amazing result of all is that I actually look forward to the gym sessions!
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
When I joined FitBody, I wanted to gain my confidence back after having 2 children. Also to regain fitness and enjoy it.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
The biggest thing that I have learnt at FitBody is that nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated, If you follow the system. Also that exercise can be really good for both physical and mental health.
What results did you achieve?
Joining 10 months ago, I have now lost 3 stones and 10 inches of my stomach. It’s a great feeling people noticing the difference and my confidence being back is by far the best bit!
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
As my children are grown, it was time to spend some time on me. I wanted to lose weight but have never been v successful and I also wanted to get fitter.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
Just to keep going and keep moving. Previously I felt guilty if I ate something that was not on my diet or missed doing some exercise. This is a way of life and there are going to be good and bad days. By following Nick's theory of 80 / 20 it is ok to just keep going and feel good about everything you do well rather than 'beat yourself up' over the occasional hiccup. This has empowered my choices, if I want chocolate I will have it but have noticed I don't seem to want it so much.
What results did you achieve?
The way I have chosen to do the plan is slow and steady, with the occasional hiccup but I am losing weight (long way to go) and losing CM'S. What I didn't expect was the way I feel, most days I stick to the plan and feel great and a few days I don't stick to the plan but do at least one of the four F's and feel ok, not guilty.
I have also met lots of like minded women, we have a laugh and enjoy the programme. There are competitions to help you break bad habits or set new ones and such a lot of positive support. No judgement, just keep on going.
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
The idea of working with older women with similar body and weight issues on a fitness and nutrition program which was not obsessed with scales and the weekly public group humiliation with the focus on weekly success and failure as I had experienced with slimming world. I became demoralised by keeping to the plan and then either losing or gaining 0.5 lb. and having to be pleased with this uncertainty. I wanted to take charge of my negative body issues and bad relationship with food in a realistic achievable and support program.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
To believe changes can happen by working with a knowledgeable fitness team. Weight is not the key focus but the achievement of my body shape changing and gaining strength I didn’t know I had. I have witnessed changes, mentally and physically I feel empowered and have gained belief in myself. This program has motivated and made me a happier person accepting of my body flaws and determined to take charge of my decisions when making good informed food focus using the brilliant easy to use plan
What results did you achieve?
I have lost the heavy weight of the vicious cycle of my bad relationship with food and am working on the ongoing battle with the negative body dsymorphia I have had all my adult life. My mental health has so improved I am medication free for the first time in 20 years. For this I will be eternally grateful for the FitBody program and the wonderful support from you and the friends I have made in my group. You have enabled me to make changes that are embedded in my thinking which is quite remarkable. Thanks Nick
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
After having a baby my self confidence was not in the greatest place and was looking for something that would help me to get back into shape and get me out of the house.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
I have learned that exercise is not an enemy and eventually you start to enjoy it (even if sometimes you feel like you might die and never make it til the end of session ). All my life I have been scared of the gym or anything else that would have sports or exercises involved, as thought that is definitely not for me and I can’t do it, but 4 months later I am truly looking forward to sessions and even trying (fail most of the times, it’s a thought that counts right?) to eat more healthier and really enjoying it too.
What results did you achieve?
I have lost just over a stone off my weight and my body feels and looks tighter and fitter, my jeans don’t feel tight at all anymore and my confidence have grown a lot. There is still a long way for me to go to where I want to be, but I start to feel better and better in my own body every day. And I have to add that I have met some wonderful ladies in group and that makes every session even more enjoyable and fun.
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
I joined training at FitBody to lose some stubborn weight I had trouble shifting after having my daughter.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
After committing myself to three workouts a week, from structured training techniques to tips on nutrition, I was back into my pre-baby clothes after an impressive three months and now weighing a stone and a half less, I am proud and over the moon.
What results did you achieve?
I was back into my pre-baby clothes after an impressive three months and now weighing a stone and a half less, I am proud and over the moon.
I now go around recommending FitBody to all my friends and family and hope they find the same life changing results as me.
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
I was trying to solve being unfit due to lack of exercise and having no structure in place to do exercise.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
I have learnt that exercise doesn't have to be a chore and that nutrition plays an important part in overall fitness
What results did you achieve?
I have achieved my goal of getting fitter, eating better and enjoying exercise.
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
When I finally gathered the courage to sign up I actually didnt believe I would ever be slim and healthy ever. I had spent years yo yo dieting and signing up to numerous diet clubs all of which I hated. They were either negative, impossible to maintain or after loosing 2 stone very little inch loss. A friend of mine had had amazing results at fitbody so in a move that was totally out of my comfort zone I decided to put my trust in Nick.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
Food is not the enemy. If I do have a day when I over eat it is most definately not the end of the world. I just get back on plan and work extra hard at class. Emotional eating was a constant for me and although there are moments when it still happens they are nothing like they used to be and I can talk myself through it and either go for a run/walk or go to class. I can also go out for a meal and choose what I actually want to eat instead of what I think I should have.
What results did you achieve?
Over this last year and a half I have achieved so many firsts I really feel like a different person. I completed a 10k, did an inflatable obstacle course. I actually go out with my friends when I used to be quite the hermit unless my hubby was coming with me. At four and a half stone lighter and wearing size 8 clothes putting my faith in Nick and the fitbody system was the best decision I have ever made.
What problem were you trying to solve by coming to FitBody?
I had been trying to lose weight and tone for a while, I didn't enjoy going to the gym and found it difficult to maintain motivation and focus. My son is getting married in a couple of months, I’m turning 54 and wanted to improve my fitness and overall appearance in time for the wedding.
What is the BIGGEST lesson you learned while at FitBody?
Where do I start, Firstly, Exercise can be fun…WHO KNEW. The sessions with Nick are hard work but I absolutely love every session, It’s never boring, the exercise routine changes each session ensuring we get a good all round body work out. The whole team are supportive, offering encouragement, no one judges you and we even manage to have a laugh between all the puffing and panting.
Secondly, Planning and Portion size. Deciding what to eat each day is a chore, but by planning ahead I actually save time and money (who doesn’t want to save money). The nutrition plan is easy to follow and stick to, even for a vegetarian but best of all, I can still have chocolate, bread and Pizza. The key to it all is portion size.
Finally, Time Out. We all lead busy lives, so its important just to take five minutes a day to truly relax and reboot. For me this works best at night, after jobs are done. Taking time to relax has helped me to destress, maintain focus and generally feel better in myself.
It is not just about one element of your lifestyle that makes the difference & it takes time to get where you want to be – All of the elements at FitBody are as important as each other to keeping you on track! I was a grazer when it came to food so the main thing for me is now having my portion control sorted and not being tempted to snack as much
What results did you achieve?
I’m still on my journey, however, since starting at FitBody in June, by body shape has changed noticeably, i'm more toned, I've gained muscle, I’ve lost 5” from my waist and 18lb in weight. I am more motivated, I have more energy and feel fitter and stronger than ever before. It’s important to remember that you only get out what your willing to put in. I work hard during my sessions, I also exercise at home between sessions (never thought I would do that). However, I couldn’t have achieved this level of motivation without the support of FitBody team, and the brilliant ladies I work out with.
